Don Bosco's Children's Home
A Letter from the Director
Thank you for your interest in Don Bosco's Children's Home. The
inspiration for the home began many years ago through a dream. In the
dream I found myself in a home surrounded by many children, tall ones,
short ones all lovingly gathered around me. Several years later I found
myself in front of such a home and immediately recognized it as the
home within my dream. The home is located in the Inverness area of
Florida. The home has now become Don Bosco's Children's Home for
the relief of foster children who have had to suffer extreme hardships
in their lives.
The home was built by a Trappist priest (Trappists are known by the work of their hands) whose whole heart was devoted
to serving the church and God's people. He labored over the last 30 years into making this home a place of refuge and
retreat for all those who came to visit. The home consists of 3 buildings with 13 bedrooms, 8 bathrooms and 3 chapels.
His love and devotion to this project is evident by the beauty of the grounds and the interior of the homes. The home has
become a place of love and happiness, healing and growth for foster children who have had to suffer so much loss in
their lives.
For the past 26 years I have worked with the foster care system taking care of the precious children that the Lord has
blessed me with. Each one came with their own story and the sad effects of their past life. Through loving care and redirection, their lives soon became meaningful, and they found hope for their futures.
After the manner of St. John Bosco, the Don Bosco's Children's Home foster's a spirit of loving kindness after the
example of the saint. Christ is the center of the children's lives, and they are given every opportunity to grow closer to
Him through the loving hands of those who care for them. We currently have several children who were in the foster care
system that recently were adopted and are now living their lives within the home with positive futures ahead of them.
With the help of God's grace and a few good people we can come to see this dream become a reality for God's children in
need. With your prayers and contributions, so many of God's children will come to have a brighter future and hope for tomorrow.
In sincere gratitude and love for God's Kingdom,
